Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for our local Edmonton company.

Job description:

·         Provide technical support for Electrical & Instrumentation system engineering design of the plants & equipments, design reviews, evaluations and safety studies
·         Prepare functional specifications for any modification/replacements in the area of electrical and instrumentation system
·         Provide technical support for troubleshooting of problems at running plants, commissioning and construction activities
·         Ensure technical integrity of the power generation and distribution systems
·         Standardise electrical & instrumentation specifications for all modifications and new developments
·         Review & update the plant maintenance philosophies/ procedures in accordance with the business needs and safety standards
·         Evaluate spares consumption & requirement and help field staff in inventory optimisation
·         Perform reliability & availability analysis and suggest improvements Assist development of projects & contracts scope of work supply, tender documents, selection of vendors & contractors, project completion, close out and lessons learned report

Requirements Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

·         B.Sc. or Master Engineering degree having minimum 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry with minimum 5 years experience of Electrical/Instrumentation design
·         Experience of being active participant in conceptual/FEED studies under capacity of overall coordinator capturing design deliverables
·         Knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering design documents e.g. equipment specifications, instrument & control loop diagrams, instrument calibration & certifications, SLDs, Electrical equipment specifications, hook-ups, ESD system, TDC, PLC, MTO etc.
·         Knowledge of engineering reviews, HAZOP, other safety studies and hazardous area classifications
·         Knowledge of gas processing plant maintenance & experience in working with contractors
·         Thorough knowledge of safety in plant maintenance operations, maintenance strategies like RCM, RBI, TPM etc.
·         Familiar with applicable international standards, Plant design specifications & philosophies, statutory regulations & requirements for safety & environment
